The first thing we have to sort out is who you are
This is the part that surprises people. Before we open a commercial door we have to establish that you’re entitled to be inside it — and a business door has more people with a claim on it than a house does. Owner, manager, tenant, landlord, franchisee, the guy with the alarm code.
What settles it quickly: photo ID plus something tying you to the premises. A lease, a utility bill in the business name, payroll paperwork, a business card matched to the signage, or a landlord who’ll confirm it by phone. If you’re an employee and the owner is reachable, one call from them is usually enough.
We check every time, on every job. It’s the same check that stops someone else talking their way through your door next month.
A commercial lockout isn’t a house door with bigger glass
Most commercial entrances are aluminum and glass with a narrow stile, running a deadlatch or an Adams Rite-style MS deadbolt rather than the residential deadbolt you have at home. The technique is different, the tools are different, and a lot of the damage we get called out to repair came from someone treating one like the other.
Where we can, we open the lock and leave it working. Sometimes the cylinder is already seized, the door has dropped on its pivots, or the bolt has jammed against a bent frame — and then opening it is only half the job, because it’ll do the same thing again next week. We’ll tell you which of those you’re looking at while we’re standing there.
Drilling is a last resort, not an opening move. If it’s genuinely the only route in we’ll say so first, explain what gets replaced afterwards, and you decide before anything is cut.

FAQ
Commercial lockout questions we get asked
I’m an employee, not the owner. Can you still let me in?
Usually yes, if we can reach the owner or manager to confirm it. Have their number ready — a thirty-second phone call is normally all it takes.
Will you damage the door?
We open damage-free wherever the hardware allows it. If drilling is the only way in, you hear that before we start, along with what has to be replaced afterwards.
Do you cover after-hours lockouts?
We work 8am–8pm, seven days. We can schedule work outside your operating hours, but we’re not a 24-hour service and we won’t pretend to be. If people are shut inside or there’s a fire risk, call 911 first.
The door opens but won’t lock again. Is that the same visit?
Often, yes. A bolt that won’t throw is usually alignment rather than the lock, and that’s frequently fixable on the spot. If it needs parts we’ll quote it before ordering.
